CartFly Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 2026

CartFly is a Shopify application that adds a sticky Add to Cart bar to a merchant's online store. This Privacy Policy explains what information CartFly collects, how it is used, and the choices available to merchants.

Information We Collect

1. Store and account information

Store and account information When a merchant installs CartFly, Shopify shares certain information with us as part of the standard app authorization process, including: the store's domain, an access token used to authenticate API requests to your store, and basic details about the staff account that installed the app (name, email address, and locale), as provided by Shopify.

2. App configuration

We store the widget settings you configure in the CartFly dashboard — such as colors, layout, button text, and display rules — so the app can render correctly on your storefront.

3. Anonymous usage data

To power the in-app analytics dashboard, CartFly records anonymous events (impressions and clicks) associated with your store and the product being viewed. These events do not identify any individual shopper.

4. Local browser storage

The CartFly storefront widget uses your shoppers' browser session storage to remember when a countdown timer began, so it continues correctly across page views. This information stays only in the shopper's browser, is never sent to our servers, and clears when the browser tab is closed.

What We Do Not Collect

CartFly does not access, collect, or store customer personal information such as names, email addresses, physical addresses, phone numbers, or order details. The app's functionality does not require this data.

How We Use Information

We use the information described above solely to: authenticate and operate the app on your store; display the sticky Add to Cart widget according to your saved settings; provide the performance statistics shown in your CartFly dashboard; and maintain, secure, and improve the app. We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell or rent it to third parties.

Sharing of Information

We do not share store or account information with third parties, except where required to operate the app (such as our hosting and database providers, who process data on our behalf) or where required by law.

Data Retention and Deletion

Store settings and event data are retained for as long as the app remains installed. If you uninstall CartFly, all data associated with your store is permanently deleted from our database. CartFly supports Shopify's mandatory compliance webhooks (customers/data_request, customers/redact, shop/redact). Because the app never stores customer personal data, customer data requests and redaction requests return or delete no customer-identifying information beyond what Shopify itself manages. The shop/redact webhook triggers deletion of all store-level data described above.

Security

Store data is held in an access-controlled, encrypted database. Access is limited to what is necessary to operate and support the app.

Children's Privacy

CartFly is a business tool intended for use by Shopify merchants and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date.
